Director and Chaplain
Fr. Len learned Sign Language at St. John's School for the deaf in 1971. Ordained as a Redemptorist priest in 1979, he moved to Texas set up a Missionary Team to the deaf in San Antonio in 1990. From there he worked throughout the United States, Canada. and Trinidad / Tobago giving missions to deaf communities. He moved to Houston Texas in 1999 to be pastor of Holy Ghost. In 2003 he became the Director of the Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Carla Holmes
Director of Religious Education
In 1967, Carla received a Master's degree in deaf education. After five years of teaching deaf children in Chicago, she moved to Houston, TX in 1973 and began working in deaf ministry for the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. She received a Masters degree in religious education in 1975 from St. Thomas University. She retired in 2003. Later she returned part-time as Director of religious education for our Center. Carla loves interpreting, assisting the deaf community and being a part of St. Dominic Deaf Center
Bill Koch
Deacon
William E. Koch, Sr. was ordained as a deacon for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in May 31, 1981 at St. Luke the Evangelist, Houston, Texas. He has been with deaf community for 30 years. In ministry, he helps with Mass every Sunday, visits the sick, teaches religious classes. He is past president and an active member of the Greater Houston Deaf Connections. He is also a member of the National Catholic Office for the Deaf. He is the proud father of two deaf sons and four grandchildren!
